Ya'll come back now!

I don't think there is a good side to the current high price of crude oil. However, it has forced US developers to look everywhere for cheap domestic oil. That includes a cow pasture in Louisiana. A drilling company has put a well on the back of a field owned by my family. The rig is 8,000 feet into the ground at this point. and we are hoping for oil.

I don't think that I am going to run to California if bubbling crude comes shooting out of the ground, but you never know. I don't know how I will react if we strike oil, because I have never owned an oil well. I may buy a Cadillac, or I may not. Maybe a Prius considering I still have to put gas in the thing. The good thing is that the cows seem relatively unaffected. And the hay is ready for the barn. So for now, things look good even if there is no oil.

Well, I should know more in a few weeks. Y'all come by now, y'hear?
